Course program
The frontal lessons, which are also open to shared discussion, after a brief introduction on relational art of the Nineties, will concentrate on the most recent developments from the 2000s, with special attention on the themes of migration, identities and borders in contemporary art. Regarding the seminars, students will be able to choose, in agreement with the professor who will lead the teaching/formation (o la composizione) of specific groups, whether to: analyze works and artists from the Museo Novecento in Florence as part of the “From the Classroom to the Museum” project; participate in the preparation of the exhibitions of the RIVA program developed at the Murate Art District; study magazines and periodicals of contemporary art and / or comics in collaboration with the National Central Library of Florence and with MAD; study and delve into themes of the exhibition dedicated to Jeff Koons in agreement with the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation. All seminars will have a moment of sharing in the public domain, with the aim on the one hand of encouraging interaction with local entities and museums, and on the other of making the student aware of and participate in the museum and educational dynamics taking place in the contemporary context.
