Learning Objectives
The objective of the workshop is to help students to know and understand the context of contemporary matedatation through the application of the international RDA guidelines, Resource Description and Access.

Type of Assessment
Learning will be tested during the course by means of exercises carried out collectively and individually by the students and through a final oral test.
Course program
The workshop will include some frontal lessons with the aim of preparing students to carry out metadata exercises based on the application of the RDA guidelines. In particular, the following will be presented: the development context of the standard, the conceptual models on which it is based (FRBR, FRAD and IFLA LRM) and the RDA Toolkit, i.e. the online tool made available to cataloguers for the application of the guidelines. The exercises will be carried out using Excel tables designed to simulate metadata software and, at a later stage, using the Rimmf3 teaching software.
