The informatics applied to archival science course, through a multidisciplinary approach, analyzes the state of the art and the future prospects of digital archives. It concerns the general principles and fundamental lines of computerized archiving, with reference to the instrumental and institutional aspects: from the analysis of the birth of computer science applied to archives up to its doctrinal, legal and scientific evolution.
The exam program will be delivered during the lessons and will be made available on the Moodle platform dedicated to teaching.
Learning Objectives
The informatics applied to archival science course provides disciplinary, technical-IT knowledge for the correct management and analysis of documentary systems, with reference to digital archives and hybrid archive management. The student acquires knowledge of the basic principles of IT applications and management processes for the correct organization of the digital archive.

Type of Assessment
The exam will take place in oral form. The test will be divided into various questions on the topics covered during the course:
- computerized archives
- computer archives
- archival description standard
- creation of the digital archive
- management of document flows.
They will evaluate:
- mastery of the contents
- the ability to synthesize and analyze themes and concepts
- the ability to be able to express oneself adequately and with language appropriate to the subject matter.
The student's argumentative and critical reflection ability in dealing with and elaborating the proposed arguments and his ability to provide examples and apply archival analysis to concrete cases will also be assessed.
